The Close Connection between the Philosophy and Religion in Ancient India

Ancient Indian philosophy has a close connection with religion. The main schools of thought prevalent in history all have distinct religious backgrounds, and most of the religious doctrines have philosophic contents. The six orthodox schools of India have carried forward and developed the main religious and philosophic thought in the ancient sacred literature Upanisads, and have formed the main part of this ancient philosophy.
