Discussion on Contemporary Transformation Approach of Traditional Confucianism: Proposition of Modernization, Scientization and Life-Orientation

Value system is a dynamic system. In face of the realistic conditions of modernity, it is important for traditional Confucianism to show great historical and time value by means of creative transformation. To realize the modernization of traditional Confucianism, it is necessary to combine theory with contemporary development. Also, it is essential to pay attention to the new issues and new tasks of the times to meet the practical demands of the contemporary development. With regard to scientization, it refers to connecting traditional Confucianism ideas with the idea of modernity to reject feudal dross and to realize theoretical innovation and development. In view of life-orientation, it focuses on applying traditional Confucianism ideas to communication-oriented life world, concerns about the value of each individual and demonstrates the direction and significance of life for people living in modern society.
