论五四时期东方文化派的文化调和思想--兼论东方文化派的孔子观

五四时期,当众多知识分子就文化选择、孔子评价等问题进行激烈争论的时候,东方文化派也积极参与,深入评论,成为这场中西文化大论战中的一个重要思想流派.他们一方面要求保存传统、昌明孔教,另一方面,反对顽固守旧,提倡中西融合,批判神化孔子,对当时的思想界影响很大.调和中西、折中新旧,是东方文化派中西文化观的基本特征.这一特征形成于新旧思潮的激烈冲突中,反映了五四时期文化选择的艰难.

On the Consonance and Thought of Orient Culture School in the Period of May 4th Movement

During May 4th times, when ideological circles disputed on culture selection and Confucianism appraising, Orient Culture School also took part in and probed into the debate and criticism, and became an important thought school in that times. On the one hand, they advocated to conserve tradition and to flourish Confucianism, on the other hand, they opposed to fogyism and bigotry, called for the combination of western and Chinese culture and criticized regulating Confucianism to state religion. These viewpoints affected the cultural contestation of that time by all means. Consonance and compromising were basic characteristics of thought of Orient Culture School. These features came into existence in the course of collision between old and new trends of thought., reflecting the hardships of cultural selecting in May 4th times.
