On implementing a correlated English teaching syllabus from elementary school to university

This paper maintains that the way out of the difficult situation of English teaching at university in China is to strongly reform the traditional teaching pattern at elementary school, secondary school and university, which has been centering on passing on knowledge; and to implement a correlated English teaching syllabus from elementary school to university, with emphasis on training of different language skills at different stages, in accordance with the natural law of language acquisition.
