A Historical Interpretation of Contradictions among the People and Its New Theoretical Value

Due to drastic changes in social, economic, political and cultural life, the concept of contradictions among the people has disappeared from academic arena and has been replaced from the ideological and language systems introduced from the West. At the present, China is undergoing the critical stage of drastic social transition and system transition, during which time all sorts of social contradictions flood in, among which the contradictions among the people account for the majority. However, due to the enlarging economic interest differences, the contradictions among the people have assumed a more violent way of expression causing severe economic losses and social perils to a certain extent. The ideas of contradictions among the people are still the basic theories that guide objective analyses of social situations and scientific means of resolving social conflicts and abrupt incidents. The theory of contradictions among the people is closely related to the long-term revolution and construction practices of the CPC members. It embodies the valuable experiences and traditions of the Party and is rich in dialectical ideas now representing lofty morals and ethical pursuits of CPC members.
