关于我国英语学习者使用英语表态副词的研究

我国英语学习者总体上较少使用表态副词,但也存在过度使用个别表态副词的情况。有趣的是,我国英语学习者使用表态副词时比较保守,在表达对自己话语真实性态度时较少使用表示完全肯定的副词,却较多使用表“怀疑”态度的副词;在需表态时更多使用“对事不对人”的表态副词。我国英语学习者使用表态副词的能力随英语水平的提高而显著提升,他们都依赖少数副词表达同一种态度,但这种依赖现象随英语水平提高而有所好转。

A study on Chinese learners' use of the English attitudinal adverbs

Based on the British National Corpus(BNC) and the Chinese Learner English Corpus(CLEC),this study made a comparison between the use of the English attitudinal adverbs by the Chinese Learners of English and that by the native speakers of English,generating the following findings: 1) The Chinese learners of English used fewer attitudinal adverbs than the native speakers but they also overused a few of these adverbs.2) They were conservative users of the attitudinal adverbs,when they expressed their belief of the truth of what they said,they used more adverbs expressing a certain degree of doubt than those expressing certainty.When they made comments,they used more adverbs expressing comment on things than those expressing comment on people.3) Their ability of using attitudinal adverbs increased as they became more proficient in English.Both the higher-level and lower level learners depended on certain words to express a certain attitude,but this kind of dependence decreased as the proficiency level increased.
