Between "Cloud" and "Mud":On the Existential Significance of Wang Zeng-qi's Fiction

Wang Zeng-qi has a high sense of existential consciousness,which can be attested by both his personality and writings.His literary conception is characterized by the coexistence of crystal-clearness and harmony,pain and conflicts;his creation by the interweaving of various contesting voices of pastoral,life,suffering and sadness,etc.However,the earth-bound life spirit,lightsome or weighty,runs through both his literary conception and creation.All the above forms "the existential history"of the author's struggle between "cloud" and "mud".
