衔接、囊括、预示与阅读

摘    要:阅读是一种复杂的心理认知和推理过程,除需要语言知识、背景知识及阅读技巧外,还需一定的语篇分析能力。文章借鉴Halhday & Hasan的语篇衔接理论,以及辛克莱(Sinclair)提出的实现语篇连贯的句际关系中的囊括和预示理论,论述并分析了衔接、囊括、预示三种使语篇连贯的不同手段在阅读中的作用。

Abstract:Reading is a complex process of psychological cognition and inference. Besides a good mastery of language, background knowledge and reading skills, one's capability of conducting discourse analysis is indispensable to a thorough understanding of a passage. Based on the theory of textual cohesion theorized by Halliday & Hasan, and on the theory of encapsulation and prospection-two major sentential relationships observed by J. Sinclair-this paper discusses and analyzes thefunctions of cohesion, encapsulation and prospection in reading.
