顾颉刚史学与历史符号学——兼论中国古史学的理论发展问题

在20世纪中国学术史上最为卓越的古代史研究中,顾颉刚先生的“典籍科学考据学”成就尤为突出。顾先生在史学研究中始终一贯地坚持一种彻底的理性主义态度,而他的史学实践的方式和目标,更奠定了此后中国古史学与世界主流历史理论进行深入沟通的基础,并与今日体现在历史符号学领域内的诸多要求颇多契合。历史符号学的主要目的是对原始文本进行意义和功能的分解与组合,其重要分支之一正是史学材料学的分析研究,顾颉刚先生毕生的事业可以说都属于这一方向。在此基础上,中国古史学还将进一步积极参与到世界历史理论的重建事业当中去。

Gu Jiegang's achievements in “scientific textual criticism” stand prominently among the studies of ancient Chinese history which are most remarkable in the Chinese academic history of the 20th century.Gu consistently adheres to a thorough rational attitude in his historical studies.Even more,the way and the aim of his historical practice lay a foundation for the profound communication between the studies of ancient Chinese history and the mainstream of world historical theory,and somehow accord with the principles of contemporary historical semiology whose main purpose is to make resolution and combination of the original texts in significance and function,and one of whose important branches is just the analytical study of the historical material.Gu's lifetime career all converges in this direction.And the studies of ancient Chinese history will participate further and more vigorously in the reconstruction of world historical theory upon that.
