刘锦棠与收复伊犁

曾纪泽与沙俄签订中俄《伊犁条约》，宣告了沙俄在我国伊犁地区殖民统治的结束，伊犁正式回到了祖国的怀抱。曾纪泽因而获得国内外的一致好评，但曾纪泽之所以能与俄国顺利签订《伊犁条约》，实与刘锦棠有极大关系一、坚决打击阿古柏余孽及卖国贼白彦虎等人的武装骚扰，粉碎了俄国利用武装骚扰长期霸占我国伊犁的阴谋；二、坚持以武力为后盾收复伊犁，才使得清政府拒不承认崇厚与俄国所签之条约，改派曾纪泽重新赴俄谈判，迫使俄国退还我伊犁。
