| 摘 要： | 合作原则是指在言语交际过程中,为了保证会话的顺利进行,言语双方都必须遵守的一定的原则。在语言交际中,人们只有谙熟东西方文化之间的差异,才能最大限度地履行英语的合作原则。通过分析东西方文化差异的具体表现,探讨了不同的文化背景下应用英语合作原则的定位。

| Abstract: | The Cooperative Principle（CP） is one that people obey in human conversation.It can never be fully abided by without a familiarization of the cultural differences between the East and the West.Analyzing specific examples of East-West cultural differences,this paper explores on the way to accomplish effective communication between different cultures through the application of the cooperative principle. |
