试析目的论在小说翻译中的适用性——以《骆驼祥子》两英译本为例

小说以大众阅读为目的，同时蕴涵许多文化特质。小说的可读性和文化传递性导致其翻译中的一对矛盾：适应目标读者的改变与忠实传递文化特征。拟从功能的角度分析这一矛盾，通过分析比较《骆驼祥子》两个英译本，认为以“目的”为中心的方法对解决该矛盾行之有效。

Applicability of the Skopos Theory to Fiction Translation

Fiction is designed for public readers and imbedded with cultural peculiarities. Consequently, fiction translation is supposed to take both aspects into consideration： ensuring the readability in the target culture and transmitting the peculiarities of the source culture. This paper examines fiction translation from a functionalist perspective. Through a sample analysis of Luotuo Xiangzi （known as The Rickshaw Boy）, a Skopos-oriented approach is highly advocated in dealing with the conflict in fiction translation.
