明清时期苏州妇女的服饰追求

从明朝中后期开始，苏州妇女服饰从朴素保守渐趋转为华美高贵，甚至逾礼越制。这一转变既与明清时期苏州商品经济的繁荣、手工业生产技艺的精细有关，传统礼教的渐趋败落和妇女家庭地位的提高也是其重要原因。

From the mid-Ming Dynasty on,Suzhou Women's pursuit of apparel and accessories began to shift from the plain and conservative to the beautiful and noble to such a degree that they even violated ritual propriety and rules of proper behaviour.The major reasons for the shift are the prosperity of Suzhou's market economy during the Ming and Qing Dynasties,the sophistication of the manufacturing techniques,the gradual decline of the Confucian ethical code,and women's rise in family status.
