Hosting China-ASEAN Expo successfully is a key factor of Guangxi participating as a regular member in the cooperation of GMS. The Expo is a driving force for Guangxi to take part in GMS cooperation systematically, economically and culturally. To exert the Expo’s advantages of mechanism, information and brand, might optimize and speed up Guangxi’s ro- le in GMS cooperation. Under this circumstance, Guangxi should utilize the platform of the Expo, closely follow the developm- ent of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, plan development strategies of Guangxi taking part in GMS cooperation, establish the organization and mechanism of cooperation, clarify the key points of future work, seek breakthrough points, strengthen the mu- lti-regional cooperation, increase Guangxi’s competitive capacity and play a better part in GMS economic cooperation.
