华人地区语言生活和语文政策研究

中国大陆、港澳台及东南亚华人居住地区的语言生活大多保存着本族语并大体通行普通话,同时也兼通差异不小的方言。各地现行的语文政策也有一些不同。这是历史文化发展的结果。现实生活存在着变异和分歧,应加强理论探讨和多做社会调查,以适应时代的需要;语言政策应遵循语言发展的规律,与时俱进,进行适当的调整;努力做到求同存异、因地制宜。

On the language Life and Language Policy in Chinese Residential Areas and Regions

People's language life in China's Mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and in the Chinese communities in Southeast Asian countries usually shows the characteristics of various native languages running parallel with Putonghua (common spoken Chinese), as well as with various dialects of obvious differences. The language policy currently in effect in the above-mentioned areas and regions also shows differences. All these differences have resulted from the historical and cultural development. As there exist these differences in language life and in language policy, theoretical studies in this field must be strengthened and more social investigations must be carried out so as to meet the needs of the time. Language policy must comply with the law of linguistic development, be adjusted time and again so as to seek common ground while reserving differences, and be kept in the light of local conditions.
