论西方学术出版范式的变革

过去二三十年,传统学术出版模式及相伴的"期刊危机"问题已经引起业界、学界的极大关注和广泛讨论。传统学术出版面临着困难,一种新的出版模式OA出现并发展起来。商业出版商对开放存取运动的态度并不急切,甚至是持反对和否定的态度。他们珍视现有的学术交流体制,质疑开放存取新模式的种种缺陷,如经济可行性、编校质量问题等。非盈利出版者则相对易于接受现有出版模式的改变,希望能够开创一种可行的OA出版模式。开放存取运动引起众多关注且争论不休,正利益相关者都期盼开放存取运动继续发展,然而业界、学界对传统体制的依赖依旧,期刊价格也照样增长。学术出版处于调整和转型期,不同的出版模式将共存一段时间。

Paradigm Transition of Western Academic Publishing

The western traditional academic publishing paradigm and relevant journal crisis have aroused great attention and overall discussion in the circle of publishing and academy during the latest 20 to 30 years.Traditional academic publishing faces trouble and a new publishing paradigm,open access(OA) appears and develops.Commercial publishers do not show urgent attitude towards OA activity,and even hold negative and objective attitude.They cherish the current academic communication system;question the defaults of OA paradigm,such as economic feasibility,editing quality and so on.Nonprofit publishers tend to be easy to accept the current change of publishing paradigm,and hope to create a feasible OA operating paradigm.OA activity attracts attention and the disputes concerning it never stop.The positive benefit relevant hope OA to develop,but the publishing and academic circles still depend on the traditional system,and journal prices still keep going up.Academic publishing is in the adjusting and transiting period and different publishing paradigms will coexist for certain time.
