论英汉思维方式差异

不同文化背景的人交流时常会遇到障碍 ,其原因多种多样 ,而思维方式的不同应是一个重要因素。了解这方面的差异无疑有助于消除跨文化交际障碍。本文讨论了英汉两种思维方式 ,并对各自的渊源作了对比分析。两者之间尽管不乏相似之处 ,但差异十分明显。从总体看 ,汉民族倾向于形象的整体综合性思维 ,英语民族则偏重抽象的个体分析性思维。

Differences in Thinking Patterns

Cultural differences in patterns of thinking are important issues for people who engage in intercultural communications. An insight into these differences plays a significant role in smoothing the communication. This paper compares the thinking pattern of the Chinese and that of the English-speaking people, and addresses why there are differences though not without similarities. The former is more likely to be a synthesis in terms of images, and the latter tends to lay more stress on analysis in terms of logics.
