In the context of evolution of Chinese Modern Literature,there are many misunderstandings in LIU Ban-nong′s poetry translation.He makes abstract poetic images concrete,local,and converses some ideological content.His reification and localization of abstract images,and his conversion of connotations displayed his intention to seek the common ground while keeping the differences and look for a new paradigm and resources of poems by a comparative study of traditional Chinese poetry and foreign poetry.His early experience of translation affected his poetry creation and literary theory,leading him from innovating vernacular verse to exploring native folk songs.
