| 摘 要： | 认知语言学认为,隐喻不仅仅是一种修辞手段,而且还是一种概念隐喻.概念隐喻具有突出一个概念的某个方面而同时掩盖其他方面的作用.所以通过概念隐喻形成的委婉语可以掩盖被禁忌概念中反面的、令人不愉快的方面,从而达到间接的委婉效果.

| Abstract: | Cognitive linguistics hold that metaphor is not only a figurative speech, but also a conceptual metaphor. Conceptual metaphor serves the function of highlighting and hiding some aspects of a concept. The euphemistic expressions involving metaphor are capable of downplaying the negative and unpleasant aspects of the tabooed things, which contributes to the indirectness of euphemism. |
