| Abstract: | Comparison exists everywhere,but there seems little study on the identification of the tenor,the vehicle.This paper deals with this problem and points out the necessity of distinguishing the tenor,the vehicle and the similarity for the comprehension of a metaphorical utterance.Also the paper demonstrates the various situations then the tenor,the vehicle,and the similarity emerge or conceal.demonstrates the various situations then the tenor,the vehicle,and the similarity emerge or conceal. |
