"为什么人”的问题,是一个根本的问题.马克思主义就是坚持以解决"为什么人”的问题来建构和发展社会主义道德体系的.毛泽东倡导为人民服务,并把它确定为中国共产党的宗旨.人民至上是毛泽东的人生价值观;做人民公仆,是毛泽东的人生准则.邓小平把共同富裕作为社会主义原则,把人民利益引入社会主义范畴,是为人民服务道德观的最高体现;把为人民服务规定为共产党员的最高准绳,提倡大力弘扬奉献精神,力求达到大公无私的道德境界.江泽民指出,代表最广大人民的根本利益是立党之本,执政之本;全心全意为人民谋利益是讲政治、讲正气的根本要求.

Serving the People"Expounded by the Three Generations of the Party's Leadership

To serve what kind of people" is a basic question. Marxism sets up and develops socialist moral system by trying to solve the problem of "who should be served". Mao Zedong proposed serving the people and defined it as the aim of the communist Party of China. Mao Zedong's value of life is to put people above everything. To serve the people is his norm of life. Deng Xiao ping considered the prosperity of all the people as the socialist principle and regarded the people's benefits to be the components of socialism. All this best illustrates the moral ideology of serving the people. The best norm to judge a communist is to see whether he serves the people or not. We should energetically encourage devotion to our cause and be selfless in our work. Jiang Zemin points out that it is fundamental for our party in power to represent and work for the basic interests of the great majority of the people. To do so wholeheartedly is the fundamental requirement to encourage standing up for what is right and to put politics in command.
