Structural reductions are common phenomena in language use. However, practice proves that language structure is not that the shorter the better. Whether to choose a reduced form or not is affected by many factors. According to this paper, 3 affecting factors should be considered in the process of reduction: to avoid syntactic ambiguity, to ensure sufficient contextual information and to be in accord with different expressive needs. Otherwise the reduction will hinder successful communication.
