| 摘 要： | 著名语言学家吕叔湘有一句名言:“英文不是中文”。英语和汉语各有自己的规律。因此,把握好二者的差异,对于英语学习或英汉翻译大有裨益。在英语学习和英语教学过程中,我们发现,在英语中存在着一种为汉语所没有的语言现象:数个语言单位表示同一语义。而这一语言现象为不少人所忽略,因而,常常造成对英文理解的偏差或英汉互译的误差。为此,本文拟就这一语言现象进行分析。

| Abstract: | "English is not Chinese." said Lu Shuxiang,a famous linguist.It means that English and Chinese have their own features.Understanding those features is especially beneficial for English learners and language translators.We have found in our English learning and teaching a language phenomenon that is rare in Chinese: several language units conveying the same meaning.This phenomenon in English,however,has caught little attention,which has resulted in some misunderstanding of the texts or poor translations.Therefore,the author of this essay is to make analysis on this language phenomenon. |
