| 摘 要： | 《法国中尉的女人》的作者约翰·福尔斯在小说中运用后现代主义叙述技巧,利用和变用了维多利亚时期小说中一些常见的人物主题--阅读浪漫传奇故事的女主人公、掩盖事实真相的女主人公、身为家庭教师的女主人公以及身为孤儿的女主人公,并在这种变用中对维多利亚时期意识形态提出了挑战和质疑.

| Abstract: | This paper probes the way John Fowles uses and abuses some of the character motifs common to Victorian Fiction in The French lieutenant's Woman:the motif of a young woman reading a romance,of one concealing the truth,of one being a governess or an orphan.It further points out that with this kind of abusing, the author is trying to challenge and question the Victorian ideology. |
