黄埔古村-古港建筑文化遗产记载了广州十三行“一口通商”时期的对外贸易史，因自身文化价值的影响力使之部分保留至今。对其生存构成最大威胁的是“大拆大建”行为及隐藏其中的各种片面利益关系。加大法制力度、承认私有产权，整治违章乱建房屋、保护建筑文化遗产，并赋予古村重新焕发生机活力的旅游功能，方为名城保护工作的紧要任务。

It has been well preserved because of its cultural influence. The greatest threat to it is the ＂Mass Demolition and Construction＂ and the various benefit relations within. It is urgent task that we enforce the law, admit private property rights, punish unauthorized buildings, protect culture heritage, and renovate the ancient village to develop tourism.
