Woman's Participation in Local Governance and its Contemporary Enlightenment in the Shansi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region

As an important part of the modern democratic politics,citizen participation and its scale,degree as well as effectiveness has become one core index of democratic and modernized level of the nation.Moreover,because of special historical development of female status,female citizen participation has more profoundly embodied the connotation and essence of modern democracy.During the Anti-Japanese War,under the leadership of the communist party of China,the Shansi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region has developed into a model of democratic rural anti-Japanese base areas,which is closely related to the participation of women in the border regions.The specific work of woman''s participation in the Shansi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region has not only promoted the construction of the border region,but also set a good example to the contemporary woman''s participation in social affairs,which has far-reaching significance.
