刘歆计量理论管窥

刘歆在协助王莽改革度量衡的过程中,提出了系统的计量理论。其理论涉及到数在计量中的作用、音律本性及其与计量的关系、度量衡基准的选择依据以及度量衡标准器的设计等内客。其理论的核心部分被后人广泛接受,成为传统计量发展的圭臬,而该理论本身也成了中国古代传统计量理论形成的标志。

Exploration of Liu Xin's Metrological Theory

When helping Wang Mang (45-23 B. C. ) to reform the system of weighs and measures, Liu Xin (? -23 B. C. ) raised his systematical theory of metrology. His theory includes the function of number in metrologies, the nature of tonality and its relation to metrologies, the theoretical foundation of how to decide the standard units of weights and measures, and the design of standard apparatus of weights and measures and so on. The central part of his theory was accepted by later people and became the guiding thought for traditional Chinese metrology. The theory itself symbolized the formation of the theory of traditional Chinese metrology.
