晚清幕府纷争与舆论精英的媒介话语选择

近代中国以报刊为核心的媒介系统始终处在战争的压力下运作.舆论精英的媒介话语选择离不开其著述的文本,更不能脱离其存在的社会语境.甲午战争前后,李鸿章、张之洞两大幕府相互倾轧,严复、章太炎、李提摩太等中外舆论精英游说其间,在政治利益角逐中扮演角色.近代舆论由器物上的洋务转向维新变法,舆论精英面对政统、道统抉择的两难,学术良知往往决定他们放弃因谋生需要而投靠某个利益集团,从而坚持学术上的自我.即政治上可以应变乃至投机,但有其学理取向上的底线;两者冲突时,学人多回归学理上的价值取向.这对甲午战争至戊戌变法前后的政治格局变迁及社会舆论趋向颇有影响.
