The Diversity of First-time Mothers' Social Support Network: A Literature Review

Social support has a significant impact on first -time mothers ,wellness, maternal adaptation and family relationship. Through reviewing re- lational literations, this paper indicates： From streng ties of husband and female ralatives and so on , first time mother get emotional support and caring infants help. Weak ties in parenting virtual community compensate the deficiency of informational support in traditional social support system, and offer emotional and companionate support and so on. Social support for first - time mothers have a tendency to diversify. However, anonymity and one - sided of computer mediated communication make internet social support cant replace but to complement traditional social support system.
