An Interpretation of Translator's Creative Treason by Functional Translation Theory

Functional translation theory emphasizes translation’s function and maintains that translation brief determines translation process.Creative treason in translation refers to translator’s intentional treason to the original to achieve certain translation brief.Therefore,functional translation theory can explain well translator’s creative treason.This paper,combining with some translation examples,presents an exhaustive interpretation of translator’s creative treason from the three rules of functionalism.
