北洋大学与近代体育

建校于1895年10月的北洋大学是我国近代史上的第一所大学，从这里走出了我国第一批自主培养的高级知识人才。北洋大学的所在地天津是我国近代体育的重镇，许多近代体育项目和体育理念在此登陆。然而作为近代人才培养体系的重要部分，有关这座中国最早大学的体育教育却鲜见于册，不啻为教育研究和体育史上的一块空白。文章试图从历史角度进行些许探究，以再现北洋大学与近代体育的关系。
