苏东坡常州之缘

东坡一生 ,履及海内重要州郡 ,最终在常州辞世 ,决非偶然巧合。初登仕途 ,即与同年相约卜居常州。沉浮二十多年后 ,上表乞居常州 ,挚友、物产、民风、山水是东坡决计归居常州的最重要原因。晚年北归 ,权衡再三 ,选择常州作终老之地。东坡视常州为第二故乡 ,从心绪到行止均与常州有着不解之缘

A Predestined Relationship between Su Dongpo and Changzhou

It is no coincidence that Su Dongpo passd away in Changzhou after having been to all the important prefectures and districts.When he entered officialdom,he and other successful candidates in the imperial examination chose to settle down in Changzhou.Having gone through the ups and downs of his official career,Su Dongpo obtained the permission from the emperor to get settled in Changzhou.His decision to live the rest of his life there was due to his attachment to his intimate friends,the local products and customs,and the natural environment of water and mountains.To him,Changzhou was his second hometown.The fact that he was closely bound to the place was reflected both in his feelings and in his activities.
