| Abstract: | Chao Cai was an unusual figure in the feudal ancient China. Her poems, her mother and she herself all had their unique qualities, of which her female image was most imposing. Her poems, pure and fresh in style, dispelled the wide-spread disillusions in the poetic circle of the mid-Tang Dynasty. |
