《高僧传》的史料、语料价值及重新校理与研究

由于佛教东传 ,我国两晋南北朝时期之史书以僧人传记最为发达 ,见之著录者凡数十种之多 ,但后来大多散佚。梁代慧皎所撰《高僧传》是目前完整保留下来的我国最早的一部僧传 ,因此它不仅是研究六朝史的重要文献 ,同时也是研究中古汉语的宝贵语料。目前通行的中华书局 1992年版《高僧传》由汤用彤先生校点整理 ,应该说是一个较好的本子 ,但由于种种原因 ,其中仍存在不少问题 ,故有必要重新进行校理与研究。

The historical and linguistic data of The Biography of Great Monks and its rectification

Owing to the spread of Buddhism in China, the historical records were represented by the stories of monks in the Jin Dynasty and the Northern and Southern Dynasties. The records were as many as dozens but most of them are lost. The Biography of Great Monks written by Huijiao is the earliest one preserved, so it is not only the important material but also the precious linguistic data for the research of the Six Dynasties. This book accessible to the present public is corrected and annotated by Tang Yongtong. Despite its merits, it has no lack of problems and therefore the further rectification is necessary.
