| Abstract: | In 1805, the first organization of modern insurance was set up in Guangzhou by foreign businessmen,and the comprador set foot in the field of modern insurance by buying the stocks of foreign corporation of insurance. From that time on, the comprador took advantage of their particular status and experience fully to take active part in national insurance of late Qing Dynasty. At the same time they made outstanding contribution to the initiation of modern national insurance of China. |
