The Silken Tent,written by American poet Robert Frost,a four-time Pulitzer Award winner,manifests rich meanings with penetrating force.From the perspectives of traditional way of appreciating poetry and new approach to encoding poetry metaphors,this sonnet proceeds with its words,meanings,and poetic styles,conveying in-depth meanings by means of metaphors expressed by daily colloquial speeches.In the restriction of traditional poetic rhythms,the poet is accomplished in voicing his poetic freedom.In the melodic meters and simple colloquial speeches,the poet expresses his love for "Her",namely,the Goddess of Poetry.The sonnet which is somewhat confessional and written while dancing with fetters commences with delight and ends with wit.
