Poetry History--On the Explation of the Relationship between Poetry and History in Notes of Selected Poems of Song Dynasty by QIAN Zhong- shu

The three methods of poetry refleting history advancd by QIAN Zhong-shu are writing realistically, expressing the meaning, and meditating on the past. This stated clearly that Qian attached more importance to the active effects of artistical imagionation and aesthetic creation than reflecting history. This viewpoit is understood as that characteristic of the history reflected by poetry is different from the historical facts recorded in historical books. The affirming about the independent character of literary creation and study has a directing mening then and now. QIAN Zhong-shu's research for the reationship between poetry and history marked his academic research developing in to multiliterary study from the artistical enjoyment.
