Jiang Shaoyuan is renowned as a folklorist and comparative religious scholar in China. His academic research mainly concentrated in religion, folk customs, festivals, which are equal to the rele- vant aspects of daily life with comparative mass, and with concise and comprehensive language and vivid images, it reveals the absurdity of the traditional superstition, to guide people to develop a scientific and religious attitude, and to have a healthy life in the popularization of science. At the same time, Jiang Shaoyuan is original in classing medical folklore studies into folklore studies, thus expanding the content and perspective of folklore studies, which lays the foundation for modern folklore research.
