皮锡瑞维新变法思想新论

近代经学大师皮锡瑞一生究心于学术与政治的完美结合，他阐发义理思想，宣扬素王改制，为维新、变法摇旗呐喊。他主张振兴孔教以文明排外，同时，力倡有用之学，主张调和中西，强调不必尽从西法。与康有为、梁启超相比，皮锡瑞的维新变法思想具有鲜明的民族文化特色，也更符合当时的社会形势。

Pi Xirui's Thoughts on Reform: A New Insight

Pi Xinli, a master of classics studies in modern times of China, was absorbed in the perfect combination of academics and politics. He interpreted the thoughts of ancient classics, popularized the Confucian reforms, called for the Reform Movement of 1898 and advocated cultural antiforeignism by rejuvenating the Confucianism. In addition, he advocated practical knowledge and argued that the Chinese culture and the west culture should be coordinated and that the western way should not be blindly copied. Compared with Kang Youwei and Liang Qichao, Pi displayed the striking feature of national culture in his reformist ideas which accorded more appropriately with the social reality of that time.
