| 摘 要： | 发表于1934年的《夜色温柔》是菲茨杰拉德的第四部长篇小说。本文以朱迪思．巴特勒在其著名的《性别困扰》一书中所提出的性表现理论为指导，分析了以“英雄式人物”迪克·戴弗尔和“新女性”巴比．沃伦为代表的小说人物所遭遇的性别错乱，并指出迪克行为的不连续性证明了J·巴特勒性表现理论中性别的复杂性和流动性，而巴比是证明J·巴特勒性表现理论中性别与生理分离的又一极好例子。最后指出虽然菲茨杰拉德对小说中人物的性别错乱持模糊态度，但运用J·巴特勒的性表现理论无疑有助于我们更好地理解这部小说。

| Abstract: | Published on 1934,Tender is the Night is Fitzgerald's fourth novel.Adopting Judith Butler's performative theory,the author of this thesis explores the gender trouble confronted by Dick Diver,the hero of the novel and Baby Warren,a New Woman respectively.It concludes that Fitzgerald held ambiguous attitude towards gender trouble reflected in Tender is the Night and Judith Butler's theory of performative gender is helpful in our understanding of this novel. |
