| Abstract: | There are three spatial dimensions in the visual physical universe we live in: length,.width and height.The bodily experience provides the cognitive motivation for multi-dimensional spatial metaphors of emotions.In both Chinese and English,abstract emotions are conceptualized as concrete one-dimensional long and thin entities,two-dimensional spacious and flat entities,and three-dimensional solid entities. |
