李汉魂与抗战时期广东救侨护侨述评

广州沦陷后,特别是太平洋战争爆发后,大批华侨从居住国辗转返回侨乡广东后方。国民党广东省政府主席李汉魂不仅组设了广东省振济会、广东省紧急救侨委员会等救济机构,还努力督率所属各机关救助受难侨胞、侨眷和侨生。李汉魂救护侨胞的工作是在抗日战争的历史背景下展开的,原因是多方面的,李汉魂及各有关机构为救护侨胞、侨眷和侨生所做的主要工作,既有重要意义,也有不足。

LI Hanhun and his work for overseas Chinese in Guangdong in the Anti-Japanese War

A large number of overseas Chinese returned to Guangdong Province from their residing countries after the Japanese invaders occupied Guangzhou, especially after the Pacific War. LI Hanhun, the President of then Guangdong Provincial government, not only set up some relief offices, but also urged the subordinates to give aid to the fellow overseas countrymen and their relatives in the homeland and the overseas students. The present paper describes the background of LI's relief work for refugees, describing the main relief measures and activities, and pointing out their significance and the limitations.
