| Abstract: | Although Mr. Shen Cheng-qing did much research on the date of publication of the several works that are related to The Pilgrimage to the West, in order to establish Li Chun-fang as the author of the novel, his work proves in vain, as it lacks a solid foundation and irrefutable proof. Therefore, it is necessary for readers as well scholars to solve this problem before any conclusion about the authorship of the novel is reached. |
