郭嵩焘西学思想述评

On the Guo song-tao's West Learning

As a advanced thinker of late Qing,Guo song-tao realized that a powerful country couldn't only depend upon the military purely,but must have the corresponding systems to operate with it,just as the politics,the economics,the technical culture and the customs.So he inspected comprehensively on the Western democratic regime,the educational system and the custom enlightenment.He not only dared to face up to the differences of culture between China and the Western countries,but also had profound reconsiderations on the Chinese politics system and the political culture.Guo song-tao has played the impor tant role on the introduction of western learning to the east.Comparing with the people of the same times,Guo song-tao's thought was profound,so he became inevitably a lonely pioneer of ideological liberation.
