人类与社会的未来

工业革命之后200年间的"现代",人口出现了爆发式增长,另一方面,工业的发展则致使地球资源和环境都达到了极限状态。但自1970年起,不论是以欧美为代表的"先进工业国",还是墨西哥、韩国和泰国等新兴工业国家,人口的增长趋势都出现了转折,开始步入持续下降的年代。这一时期,人们开始普遍意识到了"成长的极限"。通过将"当代"理解成两个不同时期——"现代"最终的快速增长期和朝向新的平衡状态的过渡期——相互抗衡的时代,当代人实现了对诸多个别现象的统一把握。为迈入未来社会,人类必将经历一场革命。虽然目前我们还无法对这场革命命名,但只要其目的是为了使世界进入最终安定平衡的状态,那么它就必须是一场为了实现人类与自然、社会与社会、人类与人类的和谐共存,创造社会体系、价值观和人类的生存方式的革命。
