| 摘 要： | 本文通过对LongmanDictionaryofContemporaryEnglish从 1 978年至今三个版本的变化、发展的对比分析 ,同时参照比较OxfordAdvancedLearner’sDictionaryofCurrentEnglish和CollinsCOBUILDEnglishDictionary ,揭示出词典的优点和不足 ,探讨英语学习词典的发展趋势。Longman ( 1 995)的优点表现为 :更加方便读者 ,更加突出口语的重要性。释义尽量用完整的句子等。不足之处在于 :对同音同形异义词的处理以及形容词、副词比较等级的标注欠妥

| Abstract: | By comparing the three editions of Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English, this paper highlights the strengths (user-friendliness, recognition of the importance of spoken English and full-sentence defining style) and weaknesses (inappropriate treatment of homonyms and failure to mark the comparative and superlative degrees of regular adjectives and adverbs) of the dictionary. |
