摘    要:纳妾问题是晚明在华天主教发展中的一个巨大障碍,是当时中西文化矛盾冲突的焦点之一。耶稣会传教士在对中国传统蓄妾习俗的批判中,多立足于天主教教规和西方家庭伦理,从制度失当和社会危害等外在层面进行论证。而中国士人教徒在接受天主教的过程中,则多立足于儒家道德规范,把遵持一夫一妻制视为守贞的修练方法,将之吸收内化为宋明工夫论的一项道德实践;他们以“内圣外王”为出发点,以改造晚明道德失范的奢靡风尚为目的,希望能挽救大明王朝的社会危机。本文尝试从传播与接受的角度入手,分析晚明天主教本土化的特殊历程,探讨中西文化间对话及相融的可能性与现实性。

Abstract:Concubine system in China is a great obstacle to the spread of Catholic in the late Ming dynasty, which became the focus of the conflict between Chinese and Western cultures. The Jesuit missionaries criticized the traditional concubine system always from the view of the Catholic religion and West family ethics. But for the Chinese Confucians who accepted Catholic, they always hold on the Confucian ethics and regarded the not-concubinage rule as a moral practice. So they tried to absorb the anti-concubine theory to the Neo-Confucianism system, and from this way, they could finally save the social crisis of the Late Ming in the field of political and moral.
