On the Translation of English ldioms

According to the authorized criterion of the translation field,the author makes some researches on English idioms from the angle of semantics and culture.In the process of the conversion of the four main translation methods such as direct translation,semantic translation,image transfer and equivalence replacement,we find some characteristics and differences between English and Chinese idiomatic expressions.Thus the paper points out that only the version with both form and content integrated can show its real quality and reveal its charm.
