| Abstract: | Qi Ji was a famous poem-writing Buddhist monk from Huxiang district in the period of the late Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties. The studies about Qi Ji so far often neglect the special identity that he was a Buddhist monk of Wei Yang sect. This article specializes in the connections between Qi Ji and Wei Yang sect. The author attempts to reveal the close relation of Qi Ji with Wei Yang sect, and expound the profound influence of Wei Yang sect's doctrine on Qi Ji's thinking and his creation and poetic theory in a comprehensive way. |
