As women have increasingly realized the importance of participating in government and political affairs,American women gradually cover a much larger proportion in voters.Gender gap did not get much attention until 1980 and it has been evident in every presidential election since then.Due to the gender inequality in politics,economy and social status,women have different opinions on some issues from men.These differences are reflected in their voting choices.Research on gender gap reveals the characteristics of women's voting behavior and the distribution of their votes.It has special reference to candidates in their electing campaign and governors in policy making.
